About
Washington state has legalized all-terrain vehicles for use on groomed trails!
We thank our friends at the Washington State Snowmobile Association and the Washington Snowmobile Advisory Committee (SMAC) who have helped make this possible.
Washington state has not yet legalized over-snow vehicles, except those with 2 skies, snowmobiles. Modernization of motorized snow sports has enabled conversions for dirt bikes to snow bikes and ATV/UTV to tracked or skied vehicles. These vehicles are not legally allowed to be registered as snowmobiles in most cases.
Due to this technicality, the department of licensing (DOL), as of 2018, no longer allows dual registration of a vehicle for road and snow use. This issue is impacting thousands of law-abiding citizens of Washington state who wish to use their multi-purpose vehicle, legally, for winter sports.
Please join this group if you want to help make all over-snow vehicles (OSV) legal and to have the ability to carry dual registrations for road and snow use.
