Washington Over-Snow Vehicles (WAOSV)

Thanks for visiting the Washington Over-Snow Vehicles group! We are dedicated to working with groups throughout Washington state to formally legalize the dual registration of over-snow vehicles. Starting in 2019, this group and many others, have worked with Washington legislation to legalize tracked all-terrain vehicles on groomed trails. In 2021, SB 5016 was signed and has made our hopes a reality.

Vehicle Status Details
Snow Bikes ✅ The snow bike bill passed on has been passed and takes effect September 1, 2019 (HB 1436 - 2019-20). Read more from the WSSA announcement (email link)
All-terrain Vehicles ✅ It took two years for the bill to be passed, but tracked all-terrain vehicles are now legal (SB 5016 - 2020-21)
